[Deptheads] Need more room for Larps

A True Dungeon / Boffer / Live Combat is a great way to draw in a younger / teen crowd who certainly can't duplicate that experience at home or with electronic gaming.
If we can't launch a serious computer / console room, that space would be terrific for such events - also since its on the main level, it should draw lots of lookie-loos which is great.
Don't forget the windows. That room has great viewing potential so this could be a big draw / lotsa talk style event that gets people excited.
Personally, I am all for axing the computer room until we get 10 TVs with Xbox and Wii tournaments happening and a dozen PCs with a StarCraft II LAN party going. That is a computer room worth giving A+ space.

(sorry for the post on *three* lists but it seems as though not all of us
are on each list and I'm not sure which one we should be using.)
The RPG dept has managed to wrangle a number of non-Camarilla Larps and
we're going to need more space than we anticipated. Right now all we've
been assigned are two cabana rooms by the pool. There are two "boffer"
tracks that will run *all day* Saturday and Sunday: they're bringing a True
Dungeon-like experience and this should prove quite popular; I know plenty
of folks dig the foam "combat" games and they were really glad to see them
return to Strategicon at Gateway. I would like to put these boffer events
into the two cabana rooms. I would place them outside if this were May or
September but February is a rainy month and we can't take the chance.
However, we also have other non-Cam Larps that will need space; single hotel
rooms just aren't big enough for these and I don't believe we're getting any
suites to work with.
My question is: where can we find a larger room for Larp events? On peak
times -- Saturday nite -- we will probably need two such rooms if the
Camarilla ends up running events.
Per the meeting yesterday, the Penthouse area has now been designated as the
Games Workshop tournament place so Larps no longer have access up there. Is
the "sky bar" up there open to us? That would be a perfect location. The
bar doesn't have to be operational -- just asking to see if we can use the
space.
If not, is there a room anywhere on the second floor that we can use during
peak times?
The large meeting room we were in yesterday will house the computer room,
correct? Is that the best use of that room considering we have no plan for
the computer room, no one currently in charge of the computer room and, if
the 2007 Strat Cons are any indication, we will have 6 people maximum in
there on Saturday afternoon. I'm just saying that it's a real waste of that
space if we have no intention of running a "real" computer gaming area.
