[Deptheads] Notes from the meeting today December 9th

It should be noted that the setup at BGG.CON I was describing was not what
they had a GenCon SoCal - at least not in the last year when I was there.
GenConSoCal had no real security - it was in a big open space with plenty of
ways to slip in and steal things. There was security there but it was not
closed up.
BGG.CON had two three part wings in the largest open gaming area. The wings
were opened and closed when the dealers did. When they were closed, the
walls were put up and could be locked in place. I thought this was possible
in the dealer room, too. Isn't there a happy medium? The walls go up to
protect the dealers at closing time and the room remains open with security
until midnight. Then, the room is cleared and sealed. During those heavy
hours in the late evening, it would provide a lot of extra space. At worst,
having some gaming in the dealer room space (even if it is during dealer
hours only) is a good thing for both gamers and the dealers. That's the main
point, I think.
