Strategicon currently offers group discounts to BoardGameGeek, Boardgame News, Camarilla, DCI, HMGS, Orange County Board Gamers, Polycon, RPGA, Quest Club, SoCal ASL Club, SoCal Gamers, SoCal Games Day, Westside Gamers, Bakersfield Board Gamers. Also the main page announces Group Discount which is very good.

More groups is a good idea. I will start putting the above list in my marketing spam on forums and such and see if that generates some movement. However, the main thing we offer gaming groups is the chance to play with new people and try new games. For many home gamers, that is not an incentive.

What ideas do you have to find these private groups? If they can be found, they can be contacted which is at least a first step.

I have always advocated a program where "groups" get discounts, one person from group sees it here, then tells the rest of their group. We have gotten a number of gaming groups to start coming, we just need to expand it. What else can we offer private "gaming groups" as incentive to gather at our place instead of theirs on our weekends?

John, what would be your suggestions on getting groups like this interested in Strategicon? How would you go about targeting these groups, marketing to them, infiltrating their ranks?

I don’t think anyone currently in charge of marketing the con actually has a marketing degree so we’re all on the same “knowledge level” here.
