Very effective advertising of a very average convention.? this is how Kublacon and all the others became so big, good PR and advertising.? For instance, whenever I see their TShirts it makes me want to see what it is all about.? Big, Shiney, Catchy.....we need to learn from these, not mock them.

John

P.S. The CON is worth mocking, but the advertising is really good.

Hi gang,

The annual Labor Day gaming convention, the Pacificon Game Expo, is
moving this year to an exciting new hotel offering more parking, more
gaming space, expanded War College, fifteen individual role playing
rooms, the Fourth Annual West Coast Boardgame Championships (with
plaques!), Guest of Honor John Hill (designer of Squad Leader & Johnny
Reb), as well as a bustling RPGA room launching the new LFR campaign
including an extended Gencon premiere only available at this show and
PAX, until next year. In addition we offer the Iron Master Warhammer
Tournaments offering 2-day 40K (Iron Bolter) and 1-day Fantasy Battles
(Iron Axe) and 1-day LOTR (Iron Ring) tourneys. In addition we are
offering two auctions (one live on Saturday, one silent on Sunday), and
Four Daily Flea Markets!

Pre registration attendance for this years show is 20% higher than last
year, with all pricing the same. Hotel rates at the beautiful Santa
Clara Marriott Hotel are still only $99, as we have extended our rooming
block three times so far! And the drive up the coast is terrific! Come
and join in as we honor one of the finest game masters in the state,
none other than Mad Cptn. Bob Johnston! Play in our expanded LARP
programs. Bring your kids to our Young Players room. Play in the 23rd
annual mission of our multi-player version of B-17: Queen of the Skies,
with our new GM, "Col" Kevin O'Hare!

The Santa Clara Marriott Hotel is also the perfect place to bring the
family, as it borders the Great America amusement park. New this year
will be Radio Controlled Tank Battles on top of one of the parking
structures. (Did I mention tons of parking - free to hotel guests - only
$5 a day to commuting attendees.) Lots of great food places nearby.

It's the perfect place for a gaming convention! Weekend passes are still
available at http://www.conquestsf.com

Because you deserve the very best in adventure gaming! See you there.
