I concur with Patrick...everytime I tell my friends about the con I always
did refer to it as Strategicon sometimes they get confused when I say OrcCon or
 Gamex or even Gateway.

Robert,

D&D minis would be under collectables, we have run them in the past, but I
can't remember from last con. That is Victor, and he has some contacts at
WOTC, so speak with him as well, as he is an "insider" so to speak.

I'd just like to have them be "Strategicon presents Orc Con", Strategicon
presents Gamex", etc so that people understand that we are all connected. To
be honest I'd like it to be "Strategicon - Winter" instead of Orc Con, but
understand that we need to keep some history associated with the names.

Subject: [Deptheads] D&D 4e Launch

Would D&D Miniatures - the WotC collectible skirmish game - be put under
Minis, CCG or Board Games for our conventions? Is it Jose, Victor or Patrick?

Also, did we have any D&D minis events happen at OrcCon?

I ask because we are trying to talk with Wizards about making Gamex the West
Coast "Launch Point" for 4th edition D&D and I want to sweeten the deal by
promoting their minis game as well. WotC launches the new edition of their
miniatures game in April with the first expansion in May and the second in
June.

We are very lucky because Paul Tevis knows lots of WotC people and he has
his award winning RPG podcast and Mike Rizzo - our RPGA guy - is also the West
Coast RPGA director so we have some leverage. I really want to beat
KublaCon on this. Kubla has a history of WotC Special Guests, but I am hoping we
can make this happen because it would be an enormous marketing kudos for us.
If anyone else has WotC contacts, please let me know!

Also, if we get "Launch Point" status, I hope we can get permission for our
dealers to sell 4e books and 4e OGL books as well. 4e books hit the US
shelves on June 6th, but Hungary will be selling them two weeks early supposedly.

Who is our primary D&D book seller in the dealer's room?

- Robert

PS: I thought we were going to rename Gamex and Gateway!! I want GoblinCon
to go with OrcCon! OgreCon and TrollCon are already taken though.
