[Deptheads]space and exposure

Tim,

If we don't provide a time, and say come by and see, I would guess that people won't bother. They have plenty of other choices at the con, and New game demos are great, but not many people want to schedule a whole day around them maybe being available.

Perhaps, entries in the con book that specified which day (and approx time, morning, noon, evening) the demo's would be running and a sign being more specific...it would allow the dealers to adjust timing with only a day's notice and provide timely cancellation notices if necessary

    Tim,

Hopefully that would work, but we've seen that if it's not in the con book, the only people that play happen to be there when it starts. The Dealers room is different certainly, but we can only hope it works out. Maybe we could make a schedule page in the con book for Dealer Demos?

Perhaps rather then scheduling the dealer demo games in the con book...there could be a daily sheet/poster at the entrance to the dealer's room listing the day's events?

At this time, we just don't get enough submissions to make it viable. The
people who were supposed to do the Skrall demos only showed up half the time
to run their own demos, so it made it a touch more difficult.

That's interesting about Skrall, because that was one of the few
companies that actually did run demos at the booth. I don't know if
that's why they only showed up half the time in your area, or if they
were just flaking in general?

Janice, if you let me know which dealers want to run demos, I'll be happy to
give them some tables near the entrance of the boardgames hall. Eric
Burgess did quite well there, and so did Pirate King, so if they want to
demo we can get them space.

Thanks very much. I know part of the problem from your perspective is
going to be that most of the dealers don't tend to actually schedule
their demos (no matter how much I encourage them), so it will be hard
to plan for them. Obviously, that's something I keep pushing for.
Maybe with the options of a demo table at the booth, one demo table
just outside the dealer room door, and some demos space in board
games, we can get more of the dealers to actually do demos, and work
from there to getting more of them scheduled ahead of time.
