I apologize for the tone of my message, which was not what I intended.
 I realize others are frustrated by not being able to follow the
thread, but I would just as quickly become frustrated by trying to use
the forum to keep up with everything.  I know forum software exists
that handles both Web and e-mail interfaces, because some other e-mail
lists I'm on use them.  I have no idea what software it is, if it's
shareware/freeware/whatever, or what platforms it's designed for,
sorry.
