I thought I would share this with the group.  I have been soliciting one of the local gaming groups to organize and run the RTTs at the convention.  One of the members approached the rest about it:

Hey guys,
Robyn has mentioned that they are looking for a group to run the next WFB/40K events at the Strategicon. Should our group do it?

I found out about SCGWL from a 40K RTT that they ran at the bunker years ago and it got me to join, even though Charlie Nichols broke my bloodthirster model.

I think running events may be our best way to get expossure and get more recruits.

Thoughts?

Re: Should SCGWL run an event?

There is already a fantasy tournament being run by SCGWL this fall.

Also, the new Strategicon venue is frankly terrible. I know the furries and larpers got it tossed from the other place, but this new building is such a step down that its made my wife and I not want to go anymore. I say let it die and hopefully some group with better organization and stronger centralized leadership will step in. Really, ask anyone who went there the last two cons and they will re-iterate how bad the venue sucked. You would get better PR results just doing something at the Bunker.
