Robert, I sent these to Eric A., he's going to put them on the website on
Special events, but I'll send them to you too:
Eric, here's a few write-ups for the Z-Man events, intended for the web
site. Please note the following:
**Warning!**Warning!**Danger, Will Robinson!**
Given that we don't know yet that English Language copies of Agricola will
be available at the convention, since the game is curently on a slow boat
from the printer in Germany, some of the language on the Agricola Tournament
write up may need to change.
**End of Line**
What's New with Z-Man Games?
This seminar is your chance to meet Zev Shlasinger, owner of Z-Man Games,
and publisher of some of the hottest board games (including Agricola,
Pandemic, and 1960: The Making of a President!). This is your chance to hear
about the history of Z-Man games, get a sneak peek at what's coming up the
future, and ask Zev your burning questions!
Agricola Tournament
If you haven't played Agricola yet, you haven't experienced one of the
hottest board games of the last couple of years! It's addictive game play,
multiple paths to victory, and ever-changing strategy has resulted in it
being currently ranked number 5 on BoardGameGeek.com. Come celebrate the
English language debut by testing your skills against other "Agrico-holics".
Due to the limited availability of the game, please bring a copy if you
have it!
Pandemic Tournament
Experience the "infectious" fun of Pandemic, as you struggle to rid the
world of disease! This is a cooperative game, where players struggle to
contain the spread of four diseases, travelling around the world to conduct
research, provide relief, and build bases of operations. This tournament
uses an ingenious structure, whereby every winning table advances; with
every win, the prize pot increases! In the end, the pot is evenly split
between the the four finalist winners -- assuming they win! That's right,
if no one beats the game in the final round, no one wins the big prize!
Cooperation will be key if you hope to succeed!
Z-Man Marathon
The Z-Man Marathon is a free-form tournament encompassing all published
Z-Man games -- players choose which Z-Man games they want to play and turn
in score sheets to report play results and gain points towards the top spot.
All players are ranked based on how they perform against other players and
the length of game they play (longer games are worth more points). The
individuals with the most points win! A library of Z-Man games will be
available for use but feel free to bring your own favorites.
