S.N.A.F.U.

That IS a fine way to pressure them.? Will/would many people have to get re-billed or credited by the hotel?? If so, I'm SURE that will go smoothly...

P.S. Making the room minimums is definate bullet-dodge.

This is getting out of hand. The same guy is posting the fact that you can get a room cheaper on Expedia.com for the con nights.

?

The rooms are cheaper than the con rate. 97, 97 and 89 bucks a night for Memorial Day Weekend. They need to drop that rate. I personally know of another con that got caught in this and the hotel dropped the rate immediately.

Thank you all for your responses. I saw on the website that the rate does not include parking, but on Expedia I was able to get the same room without parking for $95 and change. That makes it about the same price as I paid last time with parking included.

Hi Cris,

I am sure Patrick or Karl will be able to give a better reply, but I can tell it has been posted that the $99 per night rate does NOT include parking.? It has not been made clear if valet or handicap parking is also closed, but I guess a call to the hotel is worth a try. If they are talking the lot right next to the hotel, then it isn't that big of a deal to walk. It it not much further than the parking lot of the hotel.

I agree, I thought I would never miss the Westin, but we must march on.

?

For SPG points, I got the American Express and rack up the points that way.? Brett and I are up to a free weekend stay at Planet Hollywood in Vegas.?

Whoa.

Is *all* of the hotel's parking going to be shut down? That is not what has been implied (though they *have* been pussyfooting around the issue).

?

If that is the case, the convention should be *very* explicit about that; or they are going to have a *lot* of annoyed-to-pissed- off people in their face.

?

Mandatory offsite parking will seriously impact attendance; I know at least a few people who simply will not deal with that. And, if people do have to park elsewhere, everyone with SPG cards (from the time at the Westin) will probably opt to stay at the Sheraton Gateway, which counts for SPG points, and is cheaper. Not so good for the Radisson or the convention.

?

This move is looking worse and worse; I chalked the issues with the hotel *last* time up to growing/changing pains (even though the issues aren't?actually likely to go away or get better), but this is sounding even worse...

?

Patrick, care to chime in with something approaching an official word?? :)

Does anyone know if the con rate includes parking? I know it is off site, but I can't find if it is still included. Does not make sense if they knocked 10 bucks off the room to charge us 13 for off site parking. Who would have thought I would miss the Westin!
