Well, the Broadside bash (pacific marauders) have posted a really nice web
site to promote the GW 40k/Fantasy GT event for our President¹s day weekend
convention http://www.broadsidebash.com

Interesting things while looking at it is the inclusion of an events page on
the site that includes trading tables:
http://www.broadsidebash.com/events.php

Question, are they simply advertising tables for us at $10/hour
> Saturday 7:00PM9:00PM Broadside Bash flea market. Bring your miniatures and
> other gaming items you want to sell. Tables will be available for $10 per
> hour. You are welcome to share a table with a friend.
Or are they running a competing flea market table event within our
convention and keeping the $$ for themselves?

2nd question, did they coordinate this flea market with our departmental
manager who is responsible for this and is this the time we already decided
to have the flea market?

Rumours:
None of the Pacific Marauder group participated in the most recent Socal GW
gamers own GT in Garden Grove, November 1st and 2nd. The organizers of this
GT (Socal Slaughter) are very upset and stated to me that now the entire
Socal GW league is boycotting the Broadside Bash GT in protest and anger.
This is the primary GW league in LA/Riverside/OC and I expect that this will
have a major impact on attendance of the Broadside Bash.
I am under negotiations with these organizers to at least bring some GW mega
events to the con in order to encourage the Socal GW members to continue to
support Strategicon.

Given that the Socal GW league members have attended our events in numbers
for the past two years, I see any boycott by them as a further stake in the
heart of Strategicon, while the Pacific Marauders did put on a good GT at
the President¹s day convention, their members have continued to NOT attend
our conventions on a regular basis, with only two of there members even
showing up on Memorial day weekend and Labor day weekend, while the Socal GW
league members were the primary attendees of GW events at all 3 conventions
this past year. In fact, Labor day weekend I saw no Pacific Marauders at
our convention.

I perceive this as a crisis event, and possibly even a tipping point for
miniatures at our conventions.
