I don't think that prepaid parking would have made any difference regarding the exhibitor that canceled. I think that the better option world be to put a link to a couple of parking lots on the registration page, and let the participant make his or her own choice on where they want to park.

If we get people to prepay for parking with their registration, we

The problem with leaving it up to people to find their own is that
they won't.  I think that was evidenced by this past con.  It
particularly affects exhibitors.  I had one exhibitor cancel entirely
due to the parking situation.
