[Deptheads] Hotel update

We hammered on the parking and room rates today. Here's what they have  
offered and what they had to say about parking:

"When we were walking the space we talked about the parking behind the  
hotel.
The parking rate is $13.20. We do not control the parking nor do we have
a management agreement with them so including parking in the room rate
is difficult for us right now. I am waiting to speak with my Rooms
Director to see what our options are there.
What I would like to propose is $99 rate and parking on own and offer
you a discounted valet parking of $15.00 (down from $24 for overnight
guest and $20 for day use."

I'm trying to get the parking down to $13, but the room rate will  
probably stay. We're trying to get the hotel deadline pushed  
officially to May 8th to start (rather than extending like we have  
every other time).

I haven't been sent a contract yet. I expected it last week but the  
representative from the Sheraton was sick at the end of last week.

BTW, we did fairly well this convention. So well that we almost paid  
for it and Gateway 08. We'll be running a tight ship again, but a bit  
more will be spent on publicity and prizes. Thanks everyone. There's  
no way this gets done without *all* of you.
