[Deptheads] Agenda for today

All,

I'm stunned that someone interpreted my comment to imply that Patrick was
keeping items from the library for himself. It meant the exact opposite of
that. Patrick has donated an enormous amount of items to the library, prize
support box and overall convention supplies (to say nothing of his tireless
effort). I find it unconscionable that someone suggested otherwise about one
of the most generous guys I know.

I'll be honest - my biggest concern about taking on this role is the rancor
I have experienced on this list and in meetings. Even if something was meant
in jest, I certainly caution everyone to think about whether it would be
interpreted that way based on past experience with the subject of your
comment. You don't make that kind of statement to people that are not close
friends. I ask that the person involved please apologize to Patrick, as I
have for apparently inspiring their message to him.
