Please see below. We've secured the right to run a qualifier for the Ticket to Ride World Championship at Orccon. DoW will be providing a rare and interesting prize for the event and a lot of items for our library plus prize support for other events. Between this and the planned Settlers of Catan qualifier, we will have some major events driving attendance at Orccon.

I'll be publicizing this locally in the next day.

I sure hope those parking levels are open!

Days of Wonder is making a big announcement today - the first Ticket to Ride World Championships -  that will feature a series of local qualifiers, National Championships involving 8 different countries, and a World Championship featuring the top 8 players that will be held in France in June of next year.


We've planned over $50,000 in prizes, including the Grand Prize for the World Champion - a trip for 2 on the Orient Express train from London to Venice.

The North American Championship will be held at Alan Moon's Gathering of Friends next April. 16 qualifiers from regional tournaments in both Canada and the US will be invited. Currently tournaments are scheduled to be held at:  EuroQuest  in Maryland; BGG.CON in Dallas/Ft. Worth; GottaCon in Victoria, BC; Genghis Con in Denver; and OrcCon in Los Angeles.  The winner and runner-up in the Ticket to Ride Tournaments held earlier this year at Gencon and at the World Board game Championships have already earned qualifying positions in the North American Championships. Additional Qualifying tournaments will be added as we firm up details with the organizers.
