Jesse Heinig is one of the LARP GMs and except for "skipping the convention
in the future" I agree with all of his criticisms. "The convention was
wonderful" is really nice to hear, I worked really hard to try to provide
good space for the LARP games, but failed miserably due to the Hotel. Sorry
Ryan. I had to buy a bottle Fabreeze to make our room livable. The AC in the
pool rooms was weak if it was running at all. The AC in the penthouse was
too strong, game ended up moving due to the cold. I ended up with two
different small "dings" on my van that I didn't notice until getting home.
If we do not have EXCELLENT space for the LARP games at ORCCON, we will
should not plan on having any LARP games at any other cons. This is assuming
we can convince them to come to Orccon at all.
I think even a hefty raise of badge prices would be worth getting into
another Hotel. Several people mentioned Ontario again at the last con. I
checked again, and the most space I could find was about 25,000 sqft, about
half of what we use.
Has anyone heard any new on the bankruptcy? I can not find any new news
about it.
