[Deptheads] Pre reg numbers

I hope that the HMGS/PSW miniature's presence at this con has helped these "numbers" and we are still working at driving more people to come and play. I think that this is great but I would not sit back or let your guard down. The time to pick up the pace is when you are on a "roll" and people are coming back. Too many companies wait until sales are down to do something about generating more, that's poor business. Capitalize on the swell in attendance and figure out "new" ways to keep them coming back and bringing friends!

Do not count "Smackdown" as "down and out" they have plenty going on there and will not go off with their tales between their legs. There are some clever and determined people there and they will learn from their mistakes, successes, and find other ways to drive people into the doors. I do not wish "ill" on them since HMGS/PSW's position is that "any miniatures gaming is good, anywhere", but we also do not want the "old Guard" Strategicon conventions to disappear or lose the miniature's aspect. Many of us have run games here for 20+ years!

I want to thank Eric A, Tim K, and Robyn for helping to make this "visit" by HMGS/PSW possible and look forward to a memorable convention to come!

Your's in gaming,

Bill Witthans
President HMGS/PSW

We hit 360 this morning. Our previous high for a non Orccon was 344 (Gamex 2010). We still have about 36 hours left. We also set a new high for Kids (33) that stands for *all* our shows. This is also good.

By the way, last Orccon was our all time high -- it tied with 2009, but in 2009 I counted the broadside bash, in 2010 we didn't as I didn't get the numbers until after I headed for the con. When bringing up some admin code for pre-reg stuff I discovered this discrepancy. So this year we've set a pre-reg record for all three shows.

We're at 590 events, and the list is healthy everywhere.

If we get people to show up at the door this con will be a tremendous success :-)

Thanks everyone. We're in the home stretch now for this year.

    Eric
