Special Projects Team.............
Every time I hear that phrase it is like fingernails on a chalkboard; but John and his crew have done a Great job.
They have been a boon for the convention so they can call themselves "Kilt wearing boardgame ninja from beverley hills" for all I care.
Just make sure the SPT keeps the proper people in the loop. It is the courteous thing to do. We are all on the same team with the same goal in mind- a great convention.
Tim is our events coordinator and everyone needs to keep him in the loop too for any special events.
The SPT is a good idea. Every dept. can use a boost. Every dept. can use new ideas, new perspectives, and new events. Bringing back the large scale event of circus maximus is great. A large scale version of axis and allies collectable naval miniatures would be great. Want to run a large scale version of star wars collectable collectable miniatures space combat ? Great. Knock yourself out. Just let me know. Same with boardgames, video games, miniatures, etc. Just let the person scheduling events for that dept. know and let Tim know. Avoid stepping on toes.
Email me back....I got ideas for you for collectables. I will use your group's energy and enthusiasm.
Vic

Special projects was never meant to be just miniatures or anything in particular. When originally planned with Eric in 2007, Special Projects was going to be a group that ran large and special events in all departments. Our job is to fill gaps and run events that you can't do at home, things that will be associated with the convention. We will be running events in all genre of games, and we will be getting back into boardgames and RPGs this convention. We were doing both before we were needed to help out in the Miniatures area, and now that Miniatures is back on it's feet and growing, we are going forward with our original plans. During 2011 we will probably be running LARPS and Collectibles as well.

We aren't scheduling demos, we are scheduling tournaments and events.
