Just some food for thought

As they are a bit bigger and the only con up north really worth
looking at, I thought it'd be interesting to show the event breakdown

us vs them format
518 vs 590 total
257 vs 163 (138 table top + 25 historical) board games
53 vs 49 (35 cards + 14 board/minis) collectible events
4 vs 13 LARP events
31 vs 122 (55 fantasy + 67 historical) miniatures events
7 vs 52 seminars and other events (and this is actually reading low --
they lump their historical seminars in with historical miniatures. Now
mind you this includes things like the massage table hours and the odd
events they have like the art show and Kilt Day. In fact we could add
all the opening and closings and probably make up 20+ events right here)
142 vs 167 rpgs
24 vs 0 computer/video events (yes, they have a category for it, no,
there's no events listed)
-- vs 8 demos (we lump ours in with the various departments, but I
suspect they do the same in places)

Now you'll notice this adds up to 574 -- somewhere there are 16 events
that don't show up in the individual lists on their end

If we by some miracle have the same ratio of attendees we'll be in
great shape (or they will be in a serious world of hurt)

This also shows that some of their perceived strengths are quite real,
and some in some ways they're behind us. I'd especially like to lay
into them on the board game and collectible side.

On the family side of things they have a lot more kids stuff but very
little for the pre-teen set.

We'll still add a few events and I suspect they will too.

Eric
