The first thing I need to do is add in the accolades for everyone. This
Con was really good. Huge attendance, many events.
I went to the feedback forum (free pizza). Not many attendees there (angry
people show up!), and the comments were basically positive or constructive,
but no complaints!
I got feedback from Mondo's Pacificon last weekend in Santa Clara - Worst
Attendance Ever. So I am told. Also got a negative review for quality of
games/players. It has been on a steady slide, but this year people gave
up. Maybe we should try to snag some more Nor Cals?
Word from Smack down... big space, few people (200 or so gaming at any one
time). Dealers room was Brookhurst, basically that was it. It was more
like a "big game store gaming weekend" than a true Convention. It seems we
had some one day badgers who also went to Smackdown because they had the
big tourneys.
Sunday night, our convention, board gaming room.. I counted 160... ONE
HUNDRED SIXTY... actual gaming-playing people - at 11:30 PM! There were
other sitting/walking... side rooms had people in them, card games - didn't
count those. Then Minis, RPG... etc.
I took a Pano picture (Looney Labs showed me the App, it's awesome) I will
post a link to it later.
Now for a complaint for staff:
Please:
Do not let Exhibitors or Attendees into the Exhibitors Hall outside of the
operating hours and/or if myself or my staff, is not there. If there are
extenuating circumstances, a Staff member should stay with them.
Do not open the doors (for business) to the Exhibitors Hall, especially
early. If you feel there is something wrong, attempt to find me or my
staff first. Unless I have overslept, there is a reason the room is not
open.
One of my responsibilities is keeping the room secure as best I can. We
also have a responsibility to the exhibitors to keep to the
schedule. Please keep this in mind when dealing with the Exhibitors Hall.
