Bill and everyone else,

Thanks for that. As most of you know my personal life has been difficult to
deal with recently but I just go a bit of great news. The Community College
District that I teach night classes for is closed for the four day
President's Day Weekend. That means I will be able to help at the convention
starting on Friday instead of Saturday morning. That should make the entire
convention run a little smoother, as well a being a lot more fun for me. My
plans as of right now is to have my car packed and to head for the Sheraton
after work at 3:00pm on Friday. Given our work load at the shop, I may be
able to take off a little early on Friday and get there even sooner.

HMGS/PSW Vice President

Hi all,

HMGS/PSW (Historical Miniature Gaming Society/ Pacific Southwest) is gearing
up to once again support the return of miniature wargaming to the
Strategicon events. At this time there are 14-15 events on the miniatures
list put on by HMGS/PSW members! I want to thank Eric, Tim, and Robyn for
helping to make our participation easy. We have been putting out the word
round the clock about the return of great miniatures gaming (both historical
and non-historical) to these cons. You can check out some of our write ups
at our site, www.HMGS/PSW.org we also have you listed on our upcoming events
calendar as well as prominent links to your Strategicon site. This is the
info age and the young players use it! I watched closely the "Smackdown"
event and one thing they have right is this use of the information stream.
They have a slick site, facebook, twitter, and the coolest thing they had
was live (almost) feed from the convention floor. This has the effect of not
only making the event seem special but drawing people out of the house on
the spur of the moment to cruise down and become part of the action.
HMGS/PSW recently put up some how too videos on both our site and utube.
They received more positive comments than anything we have ever written and
took 1/100 the time!

My point is that you have a four day convention and some timely interviews /
game reports might motivate some of those stay at homers to make it down
when they see what their missing. It also give you a living record of the
fun one can have that pictures do not convey.

Well here's to a great con!

President HMGS/PSW
