[Deptheads] Pictures/Videos at Orccon

A few miniutes of live feed from Larps will be good to show and very entertaining as will rock band.
Floor reports from boardgaming as well as broadside bash, games with special guests, magic tourneys, HMGS events, pathfinder and other rpg events like laughing moon (rpgs are big with feeds) as well as costume contest and other events that showcase the full convention experience. Front line report from the wargames bootcamp. A tour of dealer's room. 

Ideally it needs to be mobile so the entire convention can be captured as the events occur and we need people dedicated to just covering the show in video. That is their function. Same as some of the other groups that attend cons and do nothing else but cover the convention with  video, pictures and interviews of guests, participants, staff, etc.
This con we may want
 to do it in baby steps and have a central locale near the ballroom and internet access. Capturing a variety of things that showcase our con will reach boardgamers, card gamers, mini gamers, wargamers, video gamers, roleplayers, larpers, fandom of costumes or art, etc. and is good promotion for us with advertisers and game companies of all types to support or attend our convention. We offer a wide variety and now we can show people what they are missing. We have something for all ages and types of gamers.

We can also advertise and promote what is happening later and tell people they can still come out and participate in those events. We may need more time to plan it to be great but we can still take steps that way....and we should. Tim and eric D. coordinating it and everyone else contributing as little or as much as they can/want to (until we get a video staff for out con). We have talented people that do podcasts and interviews and several experienced in all aspects of the con and fandom. Let's rock and roll

We'll have access in the Video Game Room, if nowhere else, and I'll make sure that people who want to upload to the site have priority over anyone except tournaments (Starcraft and Blood Bowl).

This is something that was brought up after the last con and as it has become a topic here on the boards I thought I would address it.  As I mentioned at the department heads meeting last year after the last Con I agreed that we needed to be doing this.

 
I have two volunteers at this con whose sole job is to take pictures.  I also have a volunteer at this con whose sole job is to take video.  The more the merrier I feel so all of you who are planning to do so I still want you to do so. 

 
If we are indeed able to upload content during the con in a variety of ways that will be great.
