[Deptheads] Auction

I've added Dean Taylor to the mailing list. Dean is a veteran of the PolyCon mailing list, so nothing here will shock him :-)
Our goal is to finish the auction by 1 pm. This time that did not happen. Slips are available starting Friday! And we started on time, sorta -- blame Karl for bringing his lots up at 11:05 or so (thankfully he only had 7 lots) ;-)
I don't know if this was an aberration or not. The place was packed, so we might have to move (though I think Gamex won't be as bad, so we should be fine then).
It also hurt that reg had to close down early due to Tracy having to leave -- that hosed Chris and myself at the end and made Tanya stuck with Keith which meant she couldn't do some of the stuff she does at the end to help clean up.
The two combined affected the dealer room, payouts of all sorts, and then teardown. We made it out of our room at 6 pm. Thankfully a couple of people stepped up and worked their tails off at the end (that'd be Neil, Dean, Eric N, whom despite his being under doctors orders to take it easy dealt with the truck on both ends, and Mark who had a kid in the hospital and still came out to help us unload at the storage unit) so we got the truck loaded and to the storage unit before it closed.
Starting earlier might need to happen. I can take this up with Alfonzo. I guess we're just getting old -- I remember these things going on for 4 hours or more for several years before ebay -- and we were fine then.

While I don't think it will be as ugly at Gamex (Paul swears that's the last big pile for a long while), we had a 3-hour marathon this last time and it was tough on all of us who sat through the whole thing. We did try to break it up by game type this time just to see how that worked.

I can think of several NO reasons, but there are some yes, including not losing all those people during XH hours, and eliminating the dealer dollar hold that happens until after the auction. People would have no reason not to shop right away Monday.
