[Deptheads] HMGS and Gateway

Just a FYI for everyone here... As you know Gateway has SoCal Smackdown 
scheduled against it. What this means to us is we have to be better at 
doing what we do then they are.

Last year, HMGS folded their Fall convention in with Gateway and have 
been "officially" present at Strategicon ever since. Their participation 
has helped revive our historical miniatures events and miniature events 
in general.

This year they have been asked to "officially" attend Smackdown and hold 
their Fall convention there. In the interests of remaining neutral and 
not picking sides, HMGS plans to "officially" support Orccon and Gamex; 
to hold their Spring convention at Gamex and their Fall convention at 
Smackdown. Last night, they have put the proposal to a vote of their 
membership. We should see the results in a week to ten days.

Regardless of the outcome of the vote, I want to be clear that HMGS is 
not abandoning Strategicon and will continue to support Orccon, Gamex 
and Gateway. They will not be discouraging any HMGS member from 
attending Gateway.
