Here's some information from the Steve Jackson Games Men In Black mailing
list regarding SoCal Smackdown:

"The con more than doubled this year and had a lot of events and tournaments
running constantly, that being said there were also a number of set backs.
Once again we had to toss out half schedule of events for the most part and
run off the white board. Another problem was most of the board game
volunteers ended up canceling and going for the CCG or Miniatures
tournaments and the person who had the cons board game library never showed
up. We basically ended up running the board game section and had 5 tables
running at the high point. This year the con also had a board game raffle
with tickets being given out to each person in a full game or a ticket being
given out to the winner of a smaller game, since probably 2/3 the the games
being run were ours we just put the games we brought as prizes into the
raffle the as well. All in all I would say this was the most time we have
ever spent at any con and it was also the most fun."
