[Deptheads] Twitter/Facebook/G+

After the meeting today, I realized I'd volunteered myself (go me >_<) to
take over the social media (Twitter, etc).  To this end, I'm gonna need
some help.  I have one person who's going to work on the G+ page, and, if
Victor's still willing, help move stuff from the profile page we have on
Facebook to an actual Page.

The reasons I'd like to push for the move on Facebook are as follows:

   - I can link the FB feed to the Twitter account, and vice versa.  In
   other words, I can make ONE update to BOTH accounts;
   - We can have way more likes than we can friends.  Friends are limited
   to 500, I believe; likes are unlimited (or, at least limited to something
   like 1M);
   - We can have a couple *responsible* admins for a page (I know this
   eliminates half the staff, but hey!);
   - People can easily tag a page and share, etc, making it more community
   focused;

Now!  As for the Twitter feed.  We want to get as much information out to
people in 120 characters or less (I'll explain in a minute).  Ideally, I'd
like to have your information in 80 characters or less, but I understand
longer tweets may be necessary.  I understand that the actual tweet limit
is 140 characters--HOWEVER!  We *want* people to retweet (RT) us; we
*want*to use hashtags (#); all these will take up characters.  RT
@Strategicon is
already 14 characters.  If we add hashtags like #Gamex2012, #Gamex #rpgs
#boardgames, etc, we're taking up more characters.  Hashtags, for the
twitter noobs, are for people to search by.  They also can become trending
topics.  It's all a wonderfully huge marketing thing and can get pretty
technical.  Let's just say, "They're important."  SO!  All of *that* having
been said, I can actually schedule the tweets to go out during the
convention so I nor anyone else needs be tied to their electronic device of
choice.  But, in order to do that, I *need* your information ahead of
time.  You can e-mail me at phantom.hopscotch at gmail.com with your
department's information for the convention and when you want the tweets to
go out.  AT the convention, if something comes up you want tweeted, text me
at 310-766-9954 and I'll do it as quickly as I can.

If the Facebook and Twitter accounts are linked, it's one update for two
social media sites!  There'd be an extra step to get it onto G+, but we can
make that work (especially if I can find an app that plays with all three
nicely).

Also... did we want to continue the TweetUp thing for Gamex?  Or should
that be an Orccon exclusive?
