> e. Signage- Let Harmon know if you need more stands.
> Request for more arrows.
I will send a list of the current signs and the numbers of each to be printed. If any signs are missing, or need more copies made, let me know by the Monday before the show, unless Tim says sooner.
> Discussed the possibility of changing the style and color of arrow signs.
It was hard to make out much of this discussion. Specifics please.
> Inquire to hotel about putting actual information on marquis.
> Need more signs for recycling locations.
Since we don't do any right now. What signs do we need? All I heard was recycling at Reg Desk.
> Still need better maps, maybe with ‘You are here’ notes.
No, we need maps. The only map we have is in the con book and while a perfectly servicable map, as far as I can tell, it does not tell you where you are.
> In a discussion about signage to make sure everyone know where the dealer room is, it was decided to give out raffle tickets with badges and every purchase from the dealer room for a daily dealer dollar drawing. The entry point for the raffle will be in the back of the dealer room at the Strategicon booth.
> f. Website Changes- Discussion about TL’s tweetup contest, and a possible contest where folks who tweet from the con can win things. Will need to put news items about these on the wesite. Also looking for monitors to display tweets and such during the con.
> Thinking about moving pictures to facebook.
There will be no *moving* the pictures to facebook. I'm all for *copying* the pictures to facebook.
I would also like this to be a two way street. How do I get the photos off of facebook?
Keep in mind that while facebook is a great medium for interacting with our patrons, we don't own the data there. The website is our archive and the place to copy to any other medium in the future. The point is not whether people look at the website albums as much as we have full access and rights to the pictures to display.
> News item about raffles on site.
> Demographics gathering on hold.
It's hard to argue this point when on a phone and only for part of the meeting, but I'm still lobbying for this. Whether we do anything with the data now is not the point, you can't get the data later.
Every department should have signup sheets for each event, and every event should document who on those sheets actually participated, with a valid badge number. I believe that this was agreed as a requirement to ensure everyone has a badge, and we know Friday has to be more flexible after reg closes. So, this action serves a purpose besides demographic data.
Demographic questions listed, if any, will be pertinent to the department. Some will be "required", some may be optional.
I'm starting to feel that some GMs feel overworked when it comes to paperwork. And I do realize that some GMs have to put in a lot more work before and/or during the con than others in order for the event to happen. I want to try to make this be helpful information without adding undue burden.
Again, I must emphasize that we can't get the data later, but it can be processed any time.
Also, we have had requests for such data, and positive reactions to the concept of collecting this data. So, the processing man power may show up later.
Tanya
