[Deptheads] Strategicon - Event GMs

I am just concerned with what happened last con where we had a "Play with the Creator" event that had a large payout and the creator was listed as the GM. This can cause confusion in BGHQ, when the event is supposed to begin and we are not sure who is actually in charge of running it. Also, the GM's signature is required on the form, as well as all the other information, and therefore we need a GM who is not the creator to fill it out. I would just ask that someone from Special Events makes sure the paperwork is done correctly, if they are acting as the GMs of the event, and they let us know in BGHQ, so we can help them get set-up, get the right paperwork, etc.

I can ask Stephanie to put her name in there but she will run the events anyway. I think it is more attractive in the book to list Antoine. He will be at all the events she is adding - she'll be handling the logistics and paperwork (or one of the Special Events folks will). It was only confused last time because there was the offer to help. Special Events could then and will handle it this time so no need to worry.

Would it be accurate to say that for your books (so to speak) you need a person listed as responsible for all aspects of the event? Ex: setup, paperwork.

>> So, I had a small logistical problem. This came up last con, appears to be happening this con, and is likely to happen again in the future. The website system for scheduling an event has a field for GM. This person, as far as Board Games is concerned, is responsible for setting up the event, being the contact person for the event, filling out paperwork for the event, etc. The problem I have, and I'll admit it is a little one, is when people set up events for our guests of honor and put their name in this field. I honestly do not expect Antione Bauza to show up to our GM meeting on Friday night, even though he is technically a rookie =) I know we like plastering our guests of honor onto everything, but from a logistical and organizational stand point, putting Antione down as the GM of an event is problematic. I was wondering if there was a better way we could promote Antione's presence and schedule, and at the same time keep things
organized. Any ideas?
