1.Welcome and Announcements

·Eric K standing in for Shane.

2. Gateway 2012

a. How did we do?

·We made money!

·Hotel bill is in - Eric to check with Hotel on reimbursement (beyond 
free wifi) for giving up rooms on Sunday and Monday.

b. What went right?

·Most everything (maybe we are getting good at this!).

c. What went wrong?

·Parking (ran out on Saturday)

·Lots of rough edges, small things dropped but overall things went well.

3. Orccon 2013

a. Budget

·Unknown, business as usual.

a.Special Guests and Events

·Unknown at this time (ERB is working on a couple of "suspects").

b.Publicity

·Eric A. not happy with publicity.

c.Department reports

·Dealer's Room (John Paiva)

oThere will be a Strategicon table and a dealer's room business table.

oTable rates will be increasing slightly.Dealers are aware.

oJohn is trying for more manufacturers.

oDealers food fund (Strategicon will no longer be paying for dealer's food).

oStaff & dealer coffee pot in dealer's room.

oJohn looking into badge holders to identify staff (different color).

oJohn rambled on about his role in Origins 1896.

·Video Games (Chris Cummins)

oJason sick unable to make meeting.

oChris Cummins landing an aircraft during meeting.

oThings went well, pinball machine was a big hit.

oMay need help with networking issues.

·Board Games (Eric K & Mike Fryer)

oDean will be absent the next two cons, small reorganization to fill in 
the gap.

oDiscontinue the practice of regular "announcements" except in the event 
of extraordinary circumstances.

oMike Fryer will run Settler's Qualifiers at both Orccon and Gamex (only 
one registration fee).

·Registration

oAdmission rates will increase +$10 on full con badges, +$5 on Mon & Fri 
day badges.This is posted.The reason for this is the hotel doubled our 
rates.

·Miniatures

oHMGS-PSW has new leadership.

oTim & Eric A. to make one more attempt to contact Broadside 
Bash.Deadline 10/31 for response.

oDiscussed painting contest, making more formal entry forms and display 
case options.

oJohn P. wants some demo tables in California (dealer's room) hallway.

d.Signage

·Tanya will be taking inventory of signs.

·Any new signs/special requests need to be to Tanya before Dec 15. 
(impending implementation of project "X" will compromise her ability to 
respond to such requests after 12/15/2012).

·Simple changes only at this point (same 12/15 deadline as above)

·Looking for assistance on website:

oTwo kinds of help are needed

·Maps in centerfold.

·Eric Nyquist enthusiastically volunteered to assist in layout (against 
his own better judgement).

·Eric A. to include paragraph about sale (Meet the new boss, same as the 
old boss, etc).

4. Sale of Con

·Con meeting for people interested in investing, Nov. 18, 2012.

·Con is being sold to the staff.This can be communicated to the public.

·Staff only will be invited to invest, no outsiders.

·Eric's goals for 2013:

oOrccon attendance 2000

·MIB issues brought up at Feedback Forum

oERB to contact Dei and see what they can do about getting more support.

oMike Fryer to contact Carla Freeman and also see what they can do about 
getting more support.

·Art work -- John P.'s goal is to have artwork for all three cons in 
hand by Jan of that year to facilitate better coordination with shirts 
and conbook.

·Eric A. no longer does shirts, now John P.
