I did not see, hear, nor was told of an offensive t-shirt.
Politcal shirts are worn to antagonize. People wear them to invoke a response. As long as they are not vile nor hate speech I have no issue.........
On the other hand.....our gms represent our convention and while gming a game they should not be antagonizing the players. Players can antagonize each other but staff and volunteers should not make attendees uncomfortable. A GM sporting different politcal t-shirts each day of the con is antagonizing. Luckily the election will happen before orccon 2013 and we have 4 years before it comes up again. We can always make red vests like they wear at grocery stores and convention event staff that you just put on over your shirt and nomatter what you wear it is covered while gming.
And yes it is subjective...then again so is deciding if the person complaining has a right to be offended (like skimpy outfits).
We all know the obvious stuff that crosses the line but the middle can go either way.
If a person took the time to send the head of boardgames a letter complaining about a gm wearing antagonizing shirts then they as a paid attendee were offended and their next stop will be facebook, twitter and blogs.
We cannot do anything about what has already happened but we can notify them that we apologize if they felt uncomfortable and we will look into the incident. If this situation ever occurs again during the convention please contact our boardgames supervisor Shane and he will address your concerns and take the appropriate action if needed. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you in the future. Stuff like that. A GM/staff is different than another attendee. We represent strategicon and are there for the attendees to have good time...not to antagonize them.

Hey everyone,
I am forwarding this to see if anyone else saw or heard anything. I would really like to know how his shirts were offensive. I didn't even notice. Did anyone else see or hear anything?

Hi guys!
Thanks for a good convention! I had fun. I do have a concern, not about you guys though.
Roderick Lee was wearing antagonistic political shirts all weekend, while also running games as a GM. That's pretty not cool in my book and I don't think it should have been allowed.
I'm not saying people can't wear those shirts to a convention--I'm saying that a GM should not be allowed to antagonize potential players who are just trying to play games.
Thoughts? Agree, or am I overreacting because I'm one of the people that was antagonized by his shirts?
