I looked further and here is our Orccon listing on mayfair site.................
 
Strategicon's Orccon 2012 is honored to once again host a Pre-Pre-Qualifier for the Catan North American Championship 2013. Players will compete to win a trip to Origins 2013 to play for a seat in the CNAC. The trip includes hotel, 4 day badge to Origins (both sponsored by Mayfair) and air transportation (sponsored by Strategicon). Orccon 2013 will provide attendees with two chances on Saturday and Sunday afternoon to qualify for a seat in the Semi-Finals on Sunday night. Full details are available at the convention website. Come learn other Mayfair games and play many additional ones in our 1,200 game-strong Library! So looking at Gamex it seems everything is ok. It states Gencon.

The con website lists the Catan tournament at Gamex as a NACC qualifier, which sounds like it gives you a seat in the North America Championships at GenCon, but on Mayfair's website under Gamex it says "CNAC Pre-Qualifier Event, the winner will compete in the semi-final round at Origins 2013".  Which is correct?
