[Deptheads] Re: Strategicon - Gamex 2013 - GM games

I think Mike's solution will work out. I like his idea of mentioning in the description that there will probably be only 1 game run.

However, I do have to disagree with this:
"they will be able to handle the second game and Dang will handle any disputes that might arise"

The point I was trying to make is that you cannot expect Dang to run multiple tables of some of his games.
There are few GMs capable of running Arkham Horror with all it's expansions successfully the way Dang does.

Some board games need the GMs to be really involved. When the game is already several hours long, it would be so lame if players had to wait for the GM to jump back and forth between the tables.

I would like to suggest that an exception is not needed. If Dang submits AH with expansions A B C & D, Dang will bring one copy of the game with those expansions. If nobody brings another copy with those expansions, there is no problem with Dang turning away the extra players. If some does bring the game with those expansions, they will be able to handle the second game and Dang will handle any disputes that might arise. A note in the description mentioning that there will most likely only be a single copy of the game would be polite. The one difference between a public game and a private game would be in a public game Dang could only play if he did not have to turn away players.

I think it might be wise to  make an exception for the games Dang runs.  In a way they are like role-playing games.

>Shane, I don't fully understand this. As described I fall into this category with my Twilight Imperium game. I have an 8 hour slot with a limit of 8 players max. The game can't accommodate more than this so this means if I have more than 8 people show up I have to run more than 1 game?

approve everything left that is not a tournament.  I noticed that some
of you have been submitting events and limiting the number of players to one game.  I will not be approving these as public events anymore.  If you
are scheduling a public event, that means you are willing to take all
comers, which may result in more than one game being played and
therefore requiring more than one round.  This is especially true of new games that players are interested in learning.
