Southern California Games Workshop League is proud to present the 
Slaughter in Space.  "The Slaughter" is an Independent Grand Tournament 
for Warhammer 40k.  The format of the tournament places an emphasis on 
promoting game play and sportsmanship in a competitive setting.  First 
and foremost we want to encourage the hobby as a whole.  We want 
everyone bringing nothing short of a gentleman's attitude to the event.  
We also expect everyone to show an in-depth knowledge of the rules and 
to act accordingly.  We understand a big part of the game is in the army 
list creation and we encourage competitive lists. "The Slaughter" 
promotes an opportunity for gamers to meet and play games against all 
different types of players.  The most important rule is to have fun and 
enjoy a few good laughs.  Remember at the end of the day we are grown 
men/women pushing little army men around and rolling dice.

"The Slaughter" will be 6 games over 2 days.  We have revamped our 
format to better reflect the direction we would like to see the hobby 
move towards under the current rules edition.   Bellow we expand upon 
our beliefs and explain why we made some of the decisions we did about 
the tournament format.

With Games Workshop no longer providing Tournament support we have 
reached out to get support.  We would like to thank the Strategicon for 
providing a venue and prize support.  We would also like to thanks GMI 
Games for all of their help and support.
