I agree with both of you.  In an ideal setting, we'd have our staff photographer in charge of assembling a team and sorting through pictures, photographing random bits.  His team would then have 1 photographer/videographer per department, responsible for general and special event pictures.  

Sadly, we don't have that. :(  What I think Eric is trying to do is assemble a list of "most important" things that he can give to Troy so that Troy can budget out his own time as well as his staff's time to make sure those events are covered.  Beyond that, he is very good about taking random con pics and I am certain he would express this need to his team.

We *want* pictures and videos--as many as we can get!--but we also want to make sure we get pictures of our special events so people will want to come to them again/next con.  

Believe me, I understand where you are coming from--but, I also know where Downing is coming from.  Our former photographer was a casual board gamer; Troy is an RPGer.  Time is critical...

I understand, but we also need pictures and video of the con as a
whole.  One of the things we lack are good pictures of each
department during the con.  This should take a couple of hours and
ideally could be done early Sat.

I hate to put it this way... but there needs to be
pics of everything...  LARPs, RPGs, Ministures, Video
Games, Guest Events and Seminars, Dealer's Room, Board
Games, Library, etc.
