WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE PUT THE WORD ON THE DEPARTMENT HEADS LIST...
The new Dealer Tokens are designed to stop the Sunday/Monday problem
everyone! they do not expire at the end of the convention, they expire
on the last day of Gateway each year. I have almost 60 tables for the
Dealer's Room already, and more coming, because sales and interest have
been increasing each convention. Part of that is the Dealer Dollar prize
program brought people in, and I don't want to dilute that. We have
companies offering to give us prizes for the Dealer Room raffle, but we
don't do it at this time because the focus is giving the winners Dealer
Tokens that they can spend in the room and increase growth.
I'm sorry I haven't been heard from on this sooner, but I can't post to
the department heads list. Someone please put it out there so everyone
knows and everyone can help spread the word that these are year-long
tokens that work at Orccon, Gamex and Gateway this year.
We do not want to dilute the program with give away games....we need to
build towards the move to the Hilton where the Dealer Room will probably
be on a separate floor than everyone else. We need to use this year to
make it a go-to destination and make it worth everyone's time to take
the trip there during the convention.

I think it's pretty cool, too. Shane - let me know how many events
you need games for on Monday. I'll bring what I can.

I'm also setting up some "Play to Win" events with Stronghold Games.
All weekend, if people check out a copy of the five titles they are
sending, they get a chance to win it on Sunday or Monday (depending
on the game). Must be present to win, we say. I'm booking them all
    tonight.

Frankly, that's brilliant. Push Dealer Dollars for
Friday/Saturday events, and start phasing in Sponsored Prizes as
you get toward the back end of Sunday. That could satisfy
everyone - dealers can't get pissed about people not getting
dealer dollars when they wouldn't have been able to spend them
        anyway.

Obviously, you can't do that 100% - some Sponsored events
(particularly Steve Jackson games) will be on Friday anyway, and
some Dealer Dollar events will be on late Sunday/Monday no
matter what you do, but there's no reason not to try to stack
        the deck in everyone's favor.

I would really like to use those for Monday events. We have
been having small issues with Monday events and dealer
dollars. If I could promote how events on Monday are
sponsored I think we could get more GM and player interest.
