[Deptheads] Wyrd Con 5 announcement

I know Ira, lisa, chris, Ben, Joslyn and the gang personally from before I moved. I gamed with them on weekends and we would travel to Colorado, Oklahoma, texas, ohio, Oregon, Georgia, etc. for larp events. Yes I did larps. 
Ira used to be the head of the men in black that attended our cons and many of the other wyrd core used to attend strategicon running ifgs events until we left the westin and lost the prime outside large patio area. They tried different times to make comebacks with other combat larps over the years after ifgs died but the boffer weapon combat and sheraton had issues. The Radisson had a few boffer larps during our time there. The westin will be great for wyrdcon and they are a 5 day con may 22- 26 (Thursday thru Monday)--I saw the announcement on sunday.
 
I will give him a buzz later today and chat....and pass on any ideas to the board for us to discuss.
Thanks for the heads up Nick and Jason....and for touching base with Ira on cooperation suggestions.

Yes indeed. Polly and I were at WyrdCon 4, and were somewhat startled by the announcement. We talked with Ira (the head of WyrdCon) and he said, in essence, that the Westin was the hotel he wanted (for more space), and that was the only weekend they could give him. 

It was suggested that Strategicon and WyrdCon could do some sort of deal with badges, and I agreed to kick that up the chain. I have Ira's email address, but I don't have it on me at this moment (it's on a business card in my badge holder).
