Robert Neff just earned his pizza on Sunday night with this helpful post. Sending in case this helps...

Ok, we are at a new convention hotel for Presidents Day Weekend Strategicon --- "OrcCon 2014"

They say the parking at the hotel will be $9 and there will be no in & out privileges ... unless you are staying AT the Hilton.  I think you must show your convention badge when you leave to get the discount.

Many of us drive and do not stay at the hotel ... so parking is what we want to know about.  $9 a day is better than past options and parking in the hotel (next to in their structure) is an improvement from the previous location.

Right next door (to the East at Century & Bellance Ave) is "The Parking Spot" parking structure.  So far it looks like they will charge $16.50 a day.  Further down Bellance Avenue (near 96th) is "WallyPark" parking Structure which seems to charge $16.95 a day.  Both may offer discount coupons but need to come much lower to compete with the Hilton.

Obviously there is no parking on Century Blvd.  There is also no street parking AT ALL behind the hotel (98th) nor the next street away (96th).

I STRONGLY suggest you do not park in the Carls Jr parking lot or at other businesses in the area.

You can use the street parking near the Burger King on Airport Blvd (at 96th).  Points North & East of there have free parking throughout the convention.  I have also checked out another free street parking area ... on the OTHER SIDE (East) of the train tracks (there is a bridge over Century Blvd at Aviation).  There is a Denny's and a Travelodge Hotel at Aviation & Century.  If you drive NORTH on Aviation and make the first right at 98th ... about a block in is open parking.  In both cases these are isolated parking spots so be very aware of your surroundings and consider walking to your car with someone if going to your car late at night.

Burger King - 9601 Airport Blvd, 90045 - Googlesays the distance is 7/10s of a mile but is shorter if you walk down Century or through the cut through between the buildings (coming via 98th).

Behind the Travelodge Hotel/ 99th Street & 99th Place, 90045 - Google says the distance is 1/2 mile.

So about the same distance to walk.  Do note for the "Behind the Travelodge Hotel" location ... the first block has "resident only" signs (badly weathered ... might not be active) so do not block until you are past the signs.

See you at OrcCon 2014

Robert
