[Deptheads] New Board Game Categories

Hi everyone,

    So Vic and I have been sitting here wasting time figuring out how to cut back on the number of board game categories.  Ok, so it wasn't a real waste of time, since we came up with some good ideas.  Originally, when I took over, there were only three categories which were too few (and one of them, was traditional card games, which don't get played much anymore)  Sop, I took on the job of categorizing all the board games into 12 new categories.  Yes, 12.  Upon reflection, I see now that that is a few too many, so here is what I would like to do.  Below are how I would like to combine the twelve categories into 6 new more competitive categories:

Dice Games + Card Games + Deck/Pool Building = Dice / Card Games
Worker Placement + Tile Placement = Worker / Tile Placement
Family/Party Games + Co-Operative Games = Social Games
Area Control/Area Influence + Rail/Route Building = Board Management
Hand/Resource Management + Auction/Bidding = Resource Management
Variable Player Powers


    The categories that we use on the website and paperwork will not change, but the annual awards will be for the above combinations.  For example, if you sign up for 18xx, it will be listed as a Rail/Route Building game, which scores you points for the annual Board Management Award.
