[Deptheads] Minutes from the 1-12 meeting

Folks, 

here are the approved minutes from the meeting. 

 Strategicon Meeting 12 Jan 2014
 0. Lunch (get there early -- you're on your own for this) - Apparently the key 
to having Eric A be on time is not make him pay for lunch.
 
 1. Welcome and Announcements - Eric A. assumes dictatorial control because 
time is short. Met with a unanimous 'meh'. 
  
 2. The tour! - Kind of had to be there for that one. Registration will be 
upstairs.
  
 3. Orccon
  
  a. Budget - Budget is weird due  to the pending ownership transition. Get 
requests in now. The answer as we get closer to the con will be "no"
  
  b. Special Guests and Events - John Wick needs to be added. Need to get info 
from John Wick to add. Get any video or presentation stuff to Nick early so he 
can have it ready. Big Catan and Ticket to Ride Qualifiers. Get Relevant info to 
Tanya for website.
  
  c. Publicity -- Marketing Email #1 ASAP - Get Parking info to Kryssie so it 
can be in the next email, some for hotel info. Will be done Tuesday! (as in 14 
January)
  
  d. Department reports - No tours, but we can HQ info on Digital signs around 
hotel. Staging for HQ gear will be in Dealers Room, please pick up ASAP. There 
will be no coupons, but a grid game that John will email out soon. No dice this 
time. New Strategicon logo on new gear coming.
  
  e. Signage - No signs on the walls! Hotel can provide easels. Number and size 
of easels to be determined. Get requests in now, Mike Russell will be helping.
  
  f. Website changes - Verify hotel info and link. Sheraton picture still in 
sidebar. Get new logo up. Auto approve pre-reg's on unlimited player events.
  
  g. Annual Awards et al - Get any missing info in now, get trophy requests in 
now.
  
  h. Parking - Hotel guarantees 1 parking space per room. Rusty has info on 
area parking. Please get info to Tanya for the website and Eric Nyquist.
  
  i. Conbook - Need to update maps and sell ads.
  
  j. Rooms - Get room lists to Victor. Last second adds will likely not be 
approved due to the extreme expense.
  
  k. Hotel Layout Space - All complaints to Tim, be sure to have something in 
the subject line so he can delete without opening.
  
  l. Art - Will have to check with Jim Pinto, shirt art needs to be to John by 
1-28
  
  m. Other stuff - No cooking at HQs. No eating at HQs. 
  
  n. Eric A's schedule - Some whining about 2 kids and no time. Oh, and baby 
sitters wanted. Maybe for the kids too.
 
 4. Deadlines
  
 NA:  Special Facility Requests due - At this point, probably not going to 
happen. Bummer.

  a. Sale? - No money has changed hands yet, will likely be a round of 2014 
buy-ins pending board approval.
 
 8. Q & A
  Wargaming as a search criteria? Ask Tanya
  Performance as search criteria? Probably not, but might merge with special 
events to get out of general
  Updating the website away from the Geocities look. Discussion about a web 
designed possibility. Must have front-end and back-end experience (insert your 
own joke here, we did).
