On several Facebook groups, his passing was confirmed.


Definitely a landmark game designer.  We'll probably make an in-memorium note where appropriate?


Eric A. and I both grew up as SL/ASL fanatics…


As someone made mention online, "Rest in Peace, Lt. Hill," accompanied by a photo of the Squad Leader 9-1 leader marker bearing his name.

I just heard from a friend that John Hill suffered a major heart attack a few days ago and is on life support.  The prognosis is not good.
 
John was the champion of “design for effect” games.  My favorites were Squad Leader and Johnny Reb.
