I'm pretty sure I'm that buffer. I will still be dealing with the badge lists that are entered on the website. If I see any hugh discrepancies from previous cons I will contact the department head and find out what is happening.

I'm not sure we want each department to input their own badges without a buffer. Remember miniatures having 50 badges for 18 events and some of those were dead? We need some kind of oversight to protect the con.

More to the point, we're trying to get people in the system as we confirm them, not right before pre-reg gets turned on or right before the con starts. It's intended to make both Eric A's and Tracy's lives a little less stressful in the weeks right before the con.
If you're in charge of the distributing a pile of badges from registration, we would prefer you be the one entering them. That's all Vendors, Games Masters, Volunteers and Senior Volunteers. People outside these four usually have to be approved first, so Eric A or Tracy will be dealing with them anyway.

I think Tanya wants you to enter some vendors on the Strategicon site using your account in order to work out any bugs that might exist. We are trying to make sure that the system will be working correctly when the time comes for everyone to enter their badge requests.
