[Deptheads] Volunteer badges

There are several volunteers who GM, volunteer, work HQs, etc. across more than one department. We also have more than a handful of gofers (basically I send them to where we need shifts worked or something done).Group names are important to those groups and their association with strategicon. They advertise us, talk about us online, blogs, and social media and like to have their group name on their badges. Especially game companies that come to run their official events and gaming groups. People like recognition...look at how people love ribbons....same thing with group names on badges.Same with Gms who are official judges and represent a company--like DCI judges, press gangers, Wk envoys, Outriders, pathfinder and other gms, etc...they qualified for and earned their titles and players look for it on badges.

The way I read it, it isn't changing the numbering system at all. I believe they are speaking of the quantity of badges, not the physical numbering on each badge.

This is the first I have heard of assigning badge numbers to volunteers/GM badges before the con. Know that if this is happening the badge number that has been assigned to your volunteer/GM must be on the badge list you give me. I will need your list on time. Will this mean I will only need to generate volunteer badge numbers at the con?Will I still be numbering badges for non-volunteer/GM positions?
What is the protocol for dealing with double badge numbers? I can see a volunteer being assigned a number, not having their number on the badge list I receive and myself assigning them a different number. Is this even a possibility?

If there is more information on the badge besides (first name, last name, group, number) I need to know asap. I will need to alter my badge layout accordingly.

Also, what info do you want to display in the list of volunteers already with a badge.

By the way, this is the first step to having the pre-reg badge numbers and at con badge numbers in sync.

Tracy, you might want to add your opinion.

Once requests have been dealt with, the link will be added to the admin menu.
