The system won't let me create a duplicate badge....red sign stating there is already a badge with that name.

***** If you can only generate, Senior Volunteer, Volunteer, or GM badges, then this issue doesn’t affect you. *****

John,
Create a new badge.Send Tracy an email about the old badge, and make it easier for her to find by putting Delete Badge in the Title. Tracy can then repurpose for another volunteer or delete.
For those who don’t get the ramifications of John’s question, Volunteers (Senior Volunteer, Volunteer, GM) get badge numbers in one range, Vendors get a different range, Staff/Convention Support have another range. There are several other ranges. There is no easy way to switch between ranges. The best solution is to create a new badge. However, most of you aren’t dealing with multiple ranges, so don’t worry about it.

Got a situation where a badge needs to be upgraded....Thomas Diendorf needs
his badge upgraded from a GM to a Vendor. How do we want to do that? Delete the
old and I put in the new?

Ok, I just
finished fixing a couple of other problems I discovered while testing Mike’s
issue. I think the No Account, was one of them. :)

As for John Albright, a person with that name has a pre-reg badge. I’ll
try to modify the error message to be clearer, but only Tracy and Eric see
  pre-reg badges.

News Flash: I’ve been modifying this code to get it to work so many ways,
I’ve forgotten what it can and can’t do. When you did your adds, you tried to
add a badge and attach it to an account and it checks for dup badges. I’m
pretty sure that’s what you hit. Which also meant it was only checking on dups
for badges with accounts. I’ve now set it to fail on just first and last name
for all adds. If this causes too many issues, I’ll have to work out a “Do you
really want to do this?” option.

Keep up with the testing folks. I think it’s getting better. Only, the
next set of fixes won’t be until morning.

Oh, and the Badge Type is always printed on the Badge so, no need to add
  it to the title field.

  Good Night.

I'm having two problems with the system. First is that I can't add
people who aren't already in the system - I can't do "No Account" entries,
it comes back with an error message. I got the same error message three
times, but when I attempted to repeat it again so that I could copy it for
this email, it ended up working correctly.

In addition to
that, I think I've found another problem. Attempting to add John Albright,
I'm told that there is already a badge for John Albright, but I can't find
one. So the problem here is - are these two the same person? If not, is the
badge system sophisticated enough to allow for there to be two people with
the same name? Or is this conflicting purely on the email address?

It did let me make two badges for Sheila Kono without
complaint. Please remove one of them.

Small addendum. I am able to add a new badge if they have an account,
but if I try to add one without, I get the 500 server error.

I tried to add a badge with no account and I got an error 500. Also
tried to change a last name and it never took the change, no error, just
        no change on the list.

No deletion. That
still has to go to Eric.

If it’s not attached to an account, it
can be repurposed by you or if you have all the badges you need, let
          Tracy know.
