[Deptheads] Should we be/is anyone concerned about this?

Hey Department Heads--
So I don't know how politically aware all of you are, but I felt it might
be somewhat important to bring a few things to your attention, because they
may very well affect the Con. I've been pretty well tapped into the
political activist scene lately, and there are no less than five different
protests planned for the whole of Orccon weekend in the Los Angeles area.
Now to be clear, I'm not bringing this up because I feel that the Con
should take a stance on politics one way or the other--that's not really my
business--but I AM bringing it up because I was in the area the day after
the Travel Ban was enacted. I can tell you from personal experience--Tom
Bradley and two other terminals were shut down, and traffic was backed up
past the hotel for several hours. I'm bringing this up because there may be
a possibility of traffic affecting the con (negatively OR positively--it
could limit access, or it could very well up attendance).
We're somewhat lucky for a number of reasons: With the stay and judicial
challenge to the Travel Ban, there's no need for protestors to stay at the
airports, and they've since gone home--so Century Boulevard and LAX is as
clear as it normally is (this is confirmed--I picked up my mom from the
airport on Friday at 1130 AM).
Furthermore, looking at each of these events, it seems like they should be
far enough away where we aren't likely to see any sort of effect
whatsoever. Two are in Pershing Square, Two are at City Hall, and one's at
the Historical Weller Street Missionary Baptist Church--and all of that is
about a half hour drive (18-20 miles) from the Hilton.
Essentially, we're probably not going to see any real effect on us (barring
an act of God or the administration), but I did want to bring this up just
in case something DOES happen. Also, I should caution that these are only
five I've heard about--I don't know if there are any others out there this
weekend, and if something big happens between now and Friday, there's a
possibility of spontaneous protests.
So should we come up with some sort of plan? Or am I needlessly concerned?

Party Games.
