[Deptheads] Official final attendance number -- for now

Barring a surprise in the final data dump (long story), the official attendance of Gateway 2017 is … 2330.

Yes, the same as Orccon 2017.

And it really was that close. While we round up to the nearest 10 for the total, the total paid attendance was 1 different (Orccon had more pre reg, but fewer dealers), paid at-the-door identical, the number of Volunteers/Staff et al was off by 7 the other direction. 

In fact, under the hood Gateway was larger, but there’s always a bit of fudge factor in the numbers in that matching duplicates is haphazard — it has to be clear cut as opposed to just the same name, and there’s still a chance we’ll get a refund request or two. And let’s just say there was slightly more imprecision than usual this time, especially on Monday.

Anyway, given the “precision” of our attendance numbers, we’re still fairly certain that this show and Orccon were essentially the same number of people.
