[Strategicon Department Heads]

My post con fan notes. Does not reflect the entire con.

The fan assigned to the Family Area on Friday afternoon was promptly relocated Friday Evening by non-Strategicon-staff persons to the back corner of Collectibles. As it happens the box fan I also had seemed to be enough for most of the weekend otherwise I would have retrieved it. I had to locate it because it was our responsibility to know the locations of all hotel fans provided to us. Might I suggest we ask for a fan to be placed in that corner by default if it’s such a problem location.

Secondly, I spent enough time in Video Games the last three cons to confirm Jason’s comments, and to know that it was the warmest place I spent time in at the con, with the warmest part of the room being the corner I was running events (back right where there was no fan allocated). Note, I didn’t say it was THE WARMEST, as I didn’t go to every corner of the con. That room needs two of the hotel fans, one in each of the back corners of the room to help circulate the air out the door. And I’d suggest all other fans in the room be pointing in that general direction too.

Of course, doing that will likely require that the hotel fan stay in the Family Area next time. And, the power options in the Family Area are not best for fans, so an extension cord, probably about 30 feet long, run along the wall from the HQ power would be great.
