No differences, just remembered a subject this time.

Sorry for the delay, but the good news is, I have a laptop again, I am
somewhere above freezing, and as far as I can tell, the Kidney stones are

Strategicon Meeting Minutes 12 Jan 2020



In attendance: Mike James, Melissa and Brandon Weiss, Fred Upton, Karla
Freeman, Anje Magno.

Via Discord: Eric Aldrich, Victor Bugg, Jim Sandoval, Chris Carlson, Tracy
and Mike Fryer, Jason DuVall, Jon Merriex, Shane Sauby, Tomer Gurantz, Dave
Holt, Topher Suarez.



Brunch – Thanks to Eric for updating this. Also, you can fill this square
on your Hipster Bingo cards.



B. Welcome and Announcements – We announce that you are welcomed.



C. Orccon

1. Budget – Budget is weird. Money is there, somewhere. Look, it’s
complicated. Ask first for anything out of the ordinary.



2. Special Guests and Events – Get anything you have to Tanya and Victor so
we can get it on the website. If you know anyone local, let Victor know.



3. Publicity – Flyers available in Discord General chat. If you print them
and deliver to your local store, please let Eric Downing know.

a. Marketing Email #1 – Get notable events to Eric D or he will make
something up for you to do, and that counts as a verbal contract. Look it
up.

               b. Art – Done.

c. Shirts – Do not take psychedelic drugs before looking at the tie-dye
shirt for this year, we are not responsible for bad trips.



4. Department reports –

Collectibles: Business as usual, but if you have any booze requests for
drunk Artemis, please let Brandon know.

Adventurer’s League: They have a social media guy, and will offer to have
him help Eric Downing. Also, AL has a code of conduct that we have placed
on our website that applies to their area only. We will make signage for
that.

               Video Games: Building a fighting tournament cabinet.

RPGs: Contessa is coming to run games, they serve the marginalized and we
are excited to see what they bring.

Board Games: Catan Qualifiers again, Power Grid World Tour again. Viva Los
Pool Noodles!

Games on Demand: Grown to where they can run all con. Having a lot of
interest from bloggers and designers.

Library: Seeing damage to stuff from movers.

Party Games: Adding an official ProtoSpiel room.

Volunteers: Get list of what you need to Karla. Also, she is heading the
play to win area, currently sharing space with ProtoSpiel.

Dealers Room: Full. Have a 2020 pin for the whole year.



5. Signage – Get all sign requests to Mike and Jim by February 1st.



6. Website notes and updates – If you have any feedback, please let Tanya
know. Sooner rather than later. Please get some sort of description in for
you department page.



7. Annual Award – Need a new plan A for trophies and ribbons.



8. Parking – No news is good news, right?



9. Rooms – Keep rooms down wherever possible, lest we end up in tents on
the patios.



10. Hotel Stuff – Still on the old contract, so nothing should change, in
theory.



11. Hotel Layout Space – Any changes to your normal layout to Mike ASAP.



12. Logistics – Still planning on eliminating movers. Research ongoing. If
you have specific needs, please let Mike know.



13. Business Cards and Phone Numbers – If you need cards, let Eric Aldrich
know. Also, if you have cards, give some to victor so he can give them out
at GAMA.



14. Documentation – Look, I haven’t done it yet either, but we all really
should. Shane excluded, I guess someone had to adult up



15. Single Event Badges – If you have eligible events, let the board know.
We are looking at having a policy to have all single events submitted to
Tracy before con so there is no guessing. Anything over 4 hours of run time
shouldn’t be eligible.
