 This is unprecedented territory.
There are gaming cons our size and smaller happening next week and august.There are also cons cancelling--mostly those that rely on guests as almost no celeb is travelling to cons rest of this year.
It does not look promising as of today......and I am busy each night at hospital.....but it can dip as quickly as it rose. Fact antibodies only stay around 2 weeks in body makes it worse.
Between us here it doesn't look like green light. More like a yellow light at this point.As per what board decided and we said to you here---we are planning on running the con until hotel and/or governor says we cannot. If things are bad in septermber it will continue to be bad going into 2021 as winter flu and colds make covid-19 more deadly as it will pop more people with underlying conditions of cold,, flu, etc. it is doing that already other side of world where it is winter.
I am still telling all the dealers we are on until i tell them otherwise. Most of them need the con as they won't make it to february without any cons for income and others including gamex already cancelled. Many are excited and keeping fingers crossed. We cannot control final governor decisions but if they are opening schools up in august then gatherings will be ok. Sure some won't come---but they arent coming to orccon in 2021 either as a vaccine will not be discovered, tested, approved, distributed, and in effect by then. it will be at least another year and our hospital treats it as such. This is the reality we have to live in for another year. Cancelling may cons many figured it would be back to ok by fall.......nope. COllege football today big 10 and other announced playing but limited fans and conference only. Baseball teams practicing today. NFL and NBA practicing. Nascar, golf, etc back. 
I hope by august everything is greenlit with restrictions and we go along with our planned show. Why? Because it isn't going away for a year or so. We can have a safe, social distanced, masks in dealer room, safe as best as possible, and sanitized show. We will also be doing that for orccon 2021.Gaming in person safely in sept will be a great release and uplifting to not only gamers but myself and other medical worklers as well as vendors who live show to show....and stores that have been shut and cn use con to get revenue.
It is in the hands of federal government, governor, and hilton at this point as we continue to take submissions, booths, and prepare. We have to prepare and plan for best. If worst happens....we say sorry no physical con, and switch to virtual mode and long wait til feb and a year between physical cons. But never feel bad preparing for con and being positive. Keep taking submissions. working on scenarios and stuff is good therapy during this pandemic. Plenty of time to be "crap...no physical con...and we wait 7 months" if it comes to that.

 All I said was I was accepting event submissions. Then I heard from Erik that he is talking to the hotel next week, so I may have been premature in asking. I guess at this very moment, we are still in a holding pattern until next week.
