[Deptheads] Interesting update on Dundracon's website regarding volunteers

The only specific references I see in recent news regarding volunteers and
compensation is in regards to the San Francisco Downtown Streets program,
in which volunteers were being rewarded with gift cards, and similar items
for maintaining street cleanliness. The argument is that they should be
classified as employees under gig work laws. (This was mid to late 2023).
The article in question noted the debate was still ongoing within the city.
Specific to this case though was having paid employees working alongside
unpaid volunteers doing the same job, but then compensating them.
That said, I'm not an expert on the topic, just did some web scouring and
this all seems tied to the recent rulings of Prop 22 and "what is a gig
worker"?
