The bases we have right now actually work fine, but they are very Home Depot DIY. I would even be okay if someone took the bases we have, which I am sure are in storage now, and painted or covered them so they don't look like a piece of pipe screwed into a piece of wood (which is exactly what they are).</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1424286487193_16542"><br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1424286487193_21699" dir="ltr">Ballast is not a big issue. If you look at the bases we have now, they are literally a 3" square pieces of wood. There was really no need for ballast in the nice bases that were made. I don't know why the pennies were ever added.
